Anyone using maple ridge armoury handguard?

Doing my first AR build to dip into service rifle.
Was looking at this handguard in 15'' as it ''looks'' lightweight and ridged.
Anyone tried it that can comment on it?
At that price I don't feel like buying something that won't work.

I have that exact one, just got it a couple weeks ago. Its good quality, light, and isn't busy. I like the small amount of rail at the front for a pop up, the rest fits my hand really nice, would be good for competition.

going to get a 17" for my other rifle.

going to cerakote soon. Made in Canada is a big selling feature for me.

I like the description saying that the barrel nut doesn’t need indexing for gas tube.
Barrel nut being aluminium, i guess it will make it lighter, but i question durability.
Clamping force from tube to nut is good? Dis you guys try to torque handguard using a sling?

Barrel nut was easy and they give you the tool you need for torquing it on. To me lots of AR parts are aluminum so that doesn’t worry me much, now when they start trying polymer ... I did use a strap wrench to test the hold of guard to nut and saw no movement at all, I gave it a good bit of force too, more than normal use would exert.

there handgaurds are pretty nice, if you can get one on sale go for it. at the retail price I think there are a lot better option out there.

The two clamping bolts ride in grooves in the barrel nut, so it ain't coming off anytime soon.
There is also an anti-rotation 'widget' that indexes into the back of the hand guard at the top, straddling the gas tube so that it's not going to budge in any direction....
Solid....

A maple ridge 18.6” Wylde barrel, muzzle device and ambidextrous I safety. Fine products.

Another maple ridge muzzle device on a 18.6” Wolverine and a maple ridge 17” rail.

Correct you do not.

Thanks for the pictures and replies.
I’m the type that my stuff needs to be functional, but if my build is going to cost north of 2K, it better look good.

My LRB lower and cerro forge upper, are deep black.
I’m disappointed to see HG looks grey and mismatching in your picture.

Got another pic with different lighting if you don’t mind?

It is not grey but flat black which is evident by the top semi+ gloss top diamond head rail which is close to the receiver finish. The bottom MI rail is also in a finish which is between semi gloss and the flat black of MR rail.

Sorry for the lighting but that’s all I have at the moment. I can send a few range pictures the next time I am out.

Thank you very much for the pictures.
Midwest industries was close 2nd in my choices,
And appears to be of same finish.
In the end i may just end up cerakoting handguard FDE and install an FDE grip and stock, just cause

Would you say, that in normal light without camera flash, that finish would resemble Spikes lower?
As the rifle it's installed on (is that a macabee?) looks unusually shiny, at least from what i'm used to see.

edit : looking at your pictures, I really like how lightweight it ''seems'' to be.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but seems like the perfect handguard to drive from target to target transitions.

Here is an MI FDE rail on another SLR. Personally I prefer the black over the FDE which I am having a difficult time getting fond of.

That is without a flash and I would say it does look darker in person.

I will have a few pictures from the range tomorrow.

Yes it’s a Maccabee and is brighter then my Spikes finish, but I find billet receivers have a different texture then forged anyways.
