Anyone using the 450 Bushmaster for hunting?

What are your thoughts on the 450 bushmaster for big game? I see it compared to the 45-70 a lot online. is that an accurate comparison given the difference in bullet weight?

Not really 450 is a little on the light side for larger game. Just shot a yearling calf with one and was unimpressed with the penetration, yes it killed it fine with a 25 yard neck shot but nowhere near the penetration you would see with a 45-70.

The 4570 will be around long after the 450 bushmaster fades away. Momentum is a powerful thing

Have taken game with mine, within 200yds I would have no issue using it on any animal in North America that we can legally hunt

Mine works fine to. I think the biggest issue is that the factory ammo is loaded for semi auto rifles and is in my opinion way under loaded. I think this cartridge can be loaded a lot hotter than what is available.I'm working up a load with 275 gn Barnes bullets when it warms up a bit.
A friend of mine has shot a lot of 45-70 ans he wants a 450.
