Anyone want to help me find a Sig Sauer P220 Match Elite?

Mine was made in the States as well.
I don't mind..

So what do you think?

On the US v German issue, I did some searching and looks like the frames of some previous models sold in NA, were made in Germany and then shipped to the US for assembly and fitting with US made slide and parts.

It's beautiful! The quality and fitment is excellent.
Haven't shot it yet. (GF says we need to paint a few rooms in the house first. :p)

Any tooling/machining marks? Mine does. Mine also has some scratches around the decocker.

Mine has the typical drag mark from actuating the decocker but other than that it is clean. Haven't shot it yet but it is surprisingly similar in fit and finish to my X5 AR at 2/3rd the cost.

Oh, I went and shot about 235-240 rounds the other day.. (Thursday) And When I was cleaning the gun last night, I noticed that the sight was moving on the slide.. Now, I was under the impression that the sights on P226's/P220's were a press fit item? Apparently not the case with the MSE with 'Target sights'.

I called Cabela's and brought the slide in and showed them. They said they would warranty it. But then I thought to myself "I don't want to hassle around with ATT's and new registrations etc :jerkit:". So, I pulled the sight apart and figured out how it worked. I noticed that they have a set screw to hold the sight in place. I unscrewed it and saw that the bottom of the set screw was flattened due to torquing down. I ground the set screw back to a taper, and then marked the slide where the sight should sit in the center. Then carefully and lightly center punched my mark and drilled out a tiny bit of the slide for the set screw to sit in and lock into place with a 1/16" drill bit. I then loctite'd everything into place.

So, if you guys get a loose sight, it can be fixed with a lot of patience and some tools. I should have taken pictures of the whole process but I was too involved with what I was doing to remember pictures.. :/

Good intel. I'll watch for it.
So how did it shoot and how did you like it?

It's more accurate than I am! :p
It shoots very well and feels absolutely solid though! :) I'm happy with it!

good to hear. i haven't shot it yet but ya, it feels really solid and well balanced.

my sight seem tight but i'll definitely be checking after i take her out.

Thanks! I will take a look and see--I am hoping mine is just loose.

If your guy's sights do get loose, it's really an easy fix. That height adjustment screw comes all the way out and you'll see the set screw there. You may be able to just tighten it up and it may be fine? You may never even have it loosen up!? But if you do, I suggest you do as I did. Maybe get a new set screw (Possibly found at a gun smith store? If not, A local hobby store for Remote Control cars and stuff will have one of those set screws) and just mark on the slide where the screw would sit if the sight is centered, and just buzz out a bit of material for the set screw to center itself into and then loctite everything. :)

I wish you guys luck! :)
