I need to replace the recoil spring of my Steyr L9. Couldn't find it anywhere in Canada, and it takes long-long time to order one. I heard that the recoil spring of Glock 17 Gen 3 could be used in the Steyr, too. If anyone has a Glock 17 G3, can you please do me a favor? Take a measurement of your recoil spring, so I know if should order a Glock17 spring for my steyr. I need the overall length, the outer diameter of the spring and the diameter of the guide rod. Thanks!

The captive plug on Gen 3 recoil spring is easily removed.

Regardless, the Glock's spring/rod doesn't have the same ID/OD as the Steyr but it may still work because it's smaller.
