I'm thinking of selling my Ruger 22/45 and trying a Browning Buckmark. I happen to like wood grips and a local dealer has a Hunter model in stock. Another local dealer has a used Target model for $40.00 more. Is it worth it or are they basically the same gun with the same trigger? The only unusual thing about the target model is the rear sight has "wings", basically really high sides. TC

i may be wrong with this but im pretty sure the 'hunter' series for both browning and ruger is their top'o the line ones.
those usually have all the bells and whistles.

i just went and had a look at the browning product page and the hunter in there definitely has all the bells and whistles.

Browning Buckmark

i have that Practical URX and i L O V E that gun!
the grips and the fiber optic sites make it a great gun.

i'd much prefer the buckmark over the 22/45. Compared to a standard Mk 3 it's a wash....I really like the hunter version of the MK 3, but it's a good bit more money. You'll be very happy with the buckmark

ya id have to agree there.
i have the browning and a ruger 22/45 lite and the browning is twice the gun.
i wanna pick up a ruger MKII hunter (or something in around that version) just so i can compare them.
but, thats about 10-15 guns down on the wish list!

I recently purchased a browning buckmark camper (the cheapest model). I had sold a couple 22lr pistols - a beretta neos and s&w m&p 22, so I was without a 22. I picked the buckmark new on the ee of a fellow cgn member for $325 shipped! I was planning on shooting it some; trying it out, and then sell it, but no I will not likely do that now, since it shoots accurate and feeds every type of ammo I put in it!

What improves the pull weight or the quality of the trigger pull? Where did you get the parts from?

The trigger is adjustable for pre-travel and reset so that helps and the sear just makes the hammer release very smooth. I don't have a scale so I don't know how much different the trigger pull weight is. I got the parts from Brownells. TC
