Funny that this cropped up just as I mentioned a 7.62x54R version in another thread. Thanks for putting a name to it's x51 brother it, and with pics no less! It looks a lot more in proportion to the 858 then I thought it would. I imagined a more Dragunov-looking piece of equipment with longer receiver, gas system, ect. I suppose they may have gotten around to changing the overall workings and ergonomics if they had seriously invested in it but too cool regardless!!!
 
Seems unlikely that it would ever be made again but it is very neat anyways. Cool to actually see pics too
 
Not not realy unlikly, Czech Small Arms is not realy a big outfit I think they would try to make one if they got prepaid order for at least 200. It is not like dealing with Ceska Zbrojovka or FB Radom where order has to be at least 2000
 
I don't want to be a downer but these would be fairly expensive if ever produced, and they probably wouldn't have much of a market outside of Canada given the near certainty that the AK-12 will be offered in .308 sooner rather later.
 
You're probably right 870P, as much as I hate to admit it but I'm sure Canadians would be good for a few thousand over the next 3-4 years if they came in waves. Whether or not that would be worth it for CSA to tool up and make these bad boys is another question altogether. I think the success of the VZ. 58 and it's kin can be largely attributed to the availability of cheap surplus ammo but also to our lust for the forbidden fruit of Canadian gun owners, AKs... Mmmmm... So perhaps these would prove to be a success but I suppose there's only one way to find out eh? Should we start a poll to gauge interest and bring it to N. Sylva Co's attention?
