So last night I installed the Apex forward set sear and aluminum trigger in my M&P 40L CORE. All I can say is WHY DO THESE GUNS NOT COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THIS TRIGGER? What a difference. Very little take up and over travel, and a 4.25 pound pull.
I had the Apex competition action enhancement kit in it before. That lowered the trigger pull to 3.5 pounds but still had the M&P trigger take up and over travel. So it was an improvement over stock, but not what I was hoping for. After reading all the good reviews about this forward set kit I bit the bullet (so to speak) and ordered one from Brownells. This forward set sear and trigger cured all of my woes.
Installation was a breeze. I just followed along with the video. I needed to do a little adjustment on the trigger bar loop, but that was easy. All in all it only took me about 30 minutes to install.
If you are thinking about getting this set up for your gun I recommend you do it. You will not be disappointed. I am going to be ordering another for my M&P 9.
