Apex Glock Failure Resistant Extractor

Try the new retailer irunguns.ca, and their american site irunguns.us. They say they can source any part from the US and get it up here, just shipping will run you a bit higher etc.

I emailed Jason earlier regarding a different accessory. He told me they won't be importing accessories until the new year.

Brownells.
Thanks. I'll give them a try. The Glock one doesn't seem to be on their site (just the M&P) but I'll email them.

Yes, how many tens of thousands of rounds have you fired before ejection/extraction problems showed up?

Well my first 17 is sitting at 40000 rounds and its never had any type of firearm related stoppage. Had a couple of bad rounds due to reloads with primer set top deep.

Eta: I lied. I replaced the trigger spring about 3 years ago now.

Extraction and ejection issues are relatively common with glocks made in the past few years. Google glock extraction issues for more information.

To the OP, they are pretty new to the market, you might have to wait a bit before it becomes available to us. Maybe shoot Apex an email suggesting or asking if they'll be available on Brownells when they build up stock?

Really? I've owned several and have never had a problem. I know many more who also have never had a problem.

G34 Gen 3, OEM extractor lasted 15K before it chipped. Replacement Gen 4 extractor lasted 6K. The one in it now has 7K on it and seems OK. (also Gen4)

This thread just reminded me I need more spares.

Todd Green had a lot of difficulty getting his Glock to run properly at the start of its endurance test:

There is also lots of discussion over at m4carbine.net:

A significant number of both 3rd and 4th generation 9mm Glocks made since late 2010 suffer from extractor/ejector related functioning problems. In some cases, these pistols have gone through several thousand rounds before starting to malfunction.

Yes, I'm not saying all glocks made in the past few years are crap. However, it has become more common to find one that has problems, than in the past.

There isn't an 81 page thread on the topic at m4carbine.net for nothing after all. (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=92133)

I've read lots of threads (on other forums) regarding extractor issues with the new Gen 4's. I figured I'd pick one up just for peace of mind.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it if it works fine currently, especially since the apex extractor isn't easily available to us yet.

I sold my Gen4 G17 for this reason. All it did was bounce brass into the forehead of everyone who tried it.Plus the grip just felt crappy after shooting my SP01 Shadow.:p

Early Gen 4's had an ejection and RSA problem but on the latest ones, the issues have already been addressed. Grip is a matter of preference.

So, I've replaced my G17 Gen4 RSA at no charge from Glock down in the states and now I'm starting to experience this ejecting brass into the forehead/face thing, not all the time just every now and then and it really pisses me off when it happens...(sure, run my gun and here are the glasses, you'll NEED to wear 'em!). Is this ejection issue covered like the RSA? If so can anyone post the phone # I called, I've lost it and can't remember who the dealer down there was.

You need to install the new 30274 ejector. Don't bother calling, Glock won't send you one.
