Apparent LEO told me my Tavor was going prohib this morning.

I believe that we as gun owners have been the target of a campaign, designed to dishearten us for years. The goal is to slowly break down our resolve to resist. When it happens, that the next ban occurs; we should not cry out; the scariest thing for the government to hear is.......silence. No shouting, no letters, no outraged marches and protests; just a silent, peaceful, non-compliance. We "just say.....no", by our actions, not our voices. Now that! will keep them awake at night.

Yup! Non-compliance is much more effective than no compromise. We have been burned in the past trying to remain law abiding people, not this time. Bad laws are worse than no laws.

We will see. I also (over)heard at my LGS that:

1. Soon we will no longer be able to get restricted firearms licenses so there's no point in buying any restricted firearms.
2. Ruger 10/22s are going prohibited because they have 25 (and 110) round magazines.
3. .50 BMG rifles are prohibited in Canada.
4. Hollow Point ammunition is prohibited in Canda.

etc. I have also heard about 20 different firearms that people have said are illegal here ( which they are not lol).

So take what randoms say with a grain of salt.

I do not doubt that there are things coming down the pipeline. But all we can do is be ready.

But you obviously only read what you wanted to, to support your post. I posted something much different, not silence alone, but silence combined with peaceful, non- compliance. Imagine, they pass a ban on semi-auto rifles, we say nothing and then none get turned in for destruction.....now what do they (government) do? Go door to door, on every gun owner in Canada, to get them? Do they have enough manpower to do that? What will be the cost of that program? Imagine the court time required to prosecute all those 'bad' gun owners and then jail them. Oh yes, and while they are in jail, they are not working or paying any taxes. The 'ripple down effect' would bankrupt the country, not to mention that if it is done peacefully, we control the narrative, persecuting peaceful citizens would drive a lot of people over to our side, enough voters on our side and bingo....a new government. The silence alone will never work, but when combined with a peaceful, non-compliance; that is the stuff that brought down the British Colonial Empire in India. It is the 'Ghandi Device", something that Governments cannot defend against.

I have posted a passive aggressive version of this. Comply and obey every law. Drive the speed limit for one. Meet at the LGS. Everyone takes a major artery at rush hour......side by side in every lane ....doing the speed limit....not under...not over...exactly the speed limit. Target a business. 100 gunnies at Walmart, all in the main lanes....paying for gum with pennies....then immediately to customer service to return it. Next day a different route, different store....different idea.....all absolutely and precisely legal. Someone might get the point when 1 million people are late for work.

Thank you, sir! I was never a believer in the "no compromise" crap, that attitude really plays just too well into the anti's narrative. I have always maintained that our true strength lies in the fact that our enemy (government) really knows so little about us. They know that a lot of us refused to comply with the LGR and some of us have even refused to get PAL's, as well. But other than those of us that own restricted guns, they really have no idea who, has what, and how many. They do know, even if they choose not to acknowledge it, that we are one of the most law abiding groups in this country, with the major exception being useless, feel-good, firearms laws. However, as they have seen from the SA/VZ incident and the High River incident, we can become a very loud and powerful, politically savvy group, very quickly....given the right motivation and both of these incidents were fairly small skirmishes in the overall war. This is exactly what we need to effectively deploy the "Ghandi Device", something that every government on this planet fears. As was demonstrated in India and Pakistan, against Great Britain, the "GD" cannot be stopped by government application of superior force against citizens, who choose to say "no", together. Also historically, Great Britain was defeated another time by an armed citizenry, when just a mere 3% of the population was armed with guns, this was the American Revolution. IMHO, as long as we control the critical information about the actual numbers involved and as long as we do not allow them to divide us from each other on the largest issue of all, total disarmament. They will continue to rant, rave, and threaten us but actually they are just the........
"poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing." MacBeth, W. Shakespeare

The secret is our numbers, our power comes from that secret, and our continued unity in the big picture.

This was quebec after all, they are making their own registry, so likely they will be able to find anything that they ban in future
