Apparently the rumours were true

Weird that it doesn't have a cylinder stop on the sideplate.
The trigger is different in design, I'm interested to see one stripped.

Colt is saying that they reduced the number of "small parts" in the trigger mechanism, so they have probably adopted a simplified rebound lever - if they haven't dropped it altogether.

Curious to see how the lock work has changed. Interesting as they are describing it as 'stronger'. It is also 6 oz heavier than the King Cobra.

Judging by the disappointment with the KC, I am not holding my breath for anything spectacular. But if it turns out to be a well-made gun with smooth trigger I'd pick one up.

I really like the looks of the new grips...I’ve never cared for how the front of the old ones sort of curved forward. These look much nicer. I’ve never been tempted by a Python before but this new one is a damn nice looking gun...and I don’t have any other 6” revolver now. I’ll be keeping an eye on these.

the reviews are Excellent. There are a bunch of video's out right now.....it looks miles ahead of the KC.

according to some...better than the original.
