I saw on that ATT application that you can simply call a 1-800 number but I was wondering if you can do that for a LTATT? Also does anyone know if it's any easier or quicker?

You know, I guess I did fill out an app the first time. The last couple I did over the phone though.

For a LTATT you need to submit form CAFC 678

cfc-cafc.gc.ca/form-formulaire/default_e.asp

Are you sure on your comment

CAFC 678 - Application to Register Firearms for Businesses (including Museums)

I think you mean
CAFC 679 - Application for an Authorization to Transport Restricted Firearms and Prohibited Firearms
You can also apply by phone, please call 1 800 731-4000.

It really depends on where you live as to how to get a LTATT, and who applies for it.
I bought my first restricted this summer, went through the transfer process, and then lo and behold, 3 days latter I had a LTATT in the mail. I never filled any paperwork out, or phoned it just showed up. It beat the arrival of the gun and was weeks earlier that the reg cert.
Maybe that just how Sask. works but seems to be efficient.

I think it depends on which province you live in, but when I got mine in Alberta, all I did was call and ask for one. It was faxed to me a few minutes later, and there were no forms that I needed to fill out.

Unfortunately the phone in method doesn't work in Ontario, and I believe also in Quebec. LTATTs are issued through clubs.

I've only ever done it that way, for both LTATT and STATT. Works fine here in Alberta. They'll mail it out, fax it out, fax it to the store you're buying the gun from, or e-mail a copy to you.

Now this might be a stupid question but do you need a ATT for each restricted firearm or ar ATT's a catchall for all restricted firearms in your possession?

When you fill out the ppwk for the LTATT you want it to apply for all restricteds that are registered to you, so do NOT put a reg# on their, leave that section blank.
