Hi everyone. I came across a 22" Browning BPS shotgun barrel with a rib that was shortened from 32" some time in its previous life. The barrel end cut is a little crooked.

Wondering what would be an approximate cost:

- to shorten this barrel from 22" to 18-ish" (whatever min legal length requirement is)
- to straighten the barrel end cut, leaving the current length unchanged
- threading it for chokes

Thanks in advance.

You’re likely going to be looking at anywhere from $100-130 to have the barrel threaded for chokes, that was the price range I got last year from a couple different gunsmiths while looking for someone that could thread a grizzly barrel. Some include one choke in the price but most times chokes are extra, best to call around and get some quotes.

18.5 for shotguns I think. Go grab a hack saw and a file measure 20 inches from the bolt face and go nutz

You're wrong, can't believe this is still an asked question on here and not a sticky.

18" for manual repeating or single shot.

18.5" for semi-auto.

Jason Spencer of Gunco cut a 30" to 18.5 with crown. $40.00. His prices are very reasonable and when I have work done the firearm is usually ready the next day. Excellent service from Gunco. Cheers. Jason will not thread a barrel for chokes.
