Hi Guys, just back from Sask and right to work. For those interested, the match schedule we have on our site www.albertarifle.com will continue as indicated now that we have a road to Homestead.

The Alberta Palma combined with the John Howard Memorial Match, is on
Saturday Sept 13th and Sunday Sept 14th starting at 9:00 AM, you will need 104 rds of ammo.
· Sat – 2 + 15 at 800m, 800m & 900m
· Sun – 2 + 15 at 900m, 900m & 800m

Target Marking is by Competitor........... unless a miracle happens.
With the season darn near done, the only match that will change is the 300m Sierra Match. We're looking at running this one in mid October, as the last few years, fall weather has been substantially better than May and June.

Hope to see some new faces there.

Actually, for a couple of us it will be our first time past 600m (myself included) I just hope I can get on paper with the first 2+15 as I would hate to blow 2 800m matches trying to get on.... LOL

Any advice for a 6BR zeroed at 300? Chart tells me 16.6moa from 300 to 800 with a 5000ft elevation....seem about right?
 
Richard, finally had some minutes on my hands and I ran 3 bullets you're likely to shoot through the JBM at 3000 fps at 300' and 5000' with standard day inputs. The difference between them at the altitudes shown were from a 300m zero and they all only had about a minute and a half difference from 300' to 5000'. Berger 105 was the most optomistic but the minute and a half relationship was the same as the 105 Lapua and the 107 Sierra. Your 16.6 sounds a bit much. I had Berger at 15.2 and Lapua and Sierra at 15.7 but that was 3000 fps. You didn't mention how fast you're going.

I haven't chronied the load since it's cooled down here either. Last I chronied was when I was working up the load a week before the Lower Mainland Regionals.

Did you guys book rooms in Cochrane or is Ian bringing the unit. I tried booking a room tonight and there's some form of native gathering going on so I couldn't find a room no how, no where close at least. Looks like I'll have to impose on the sister in law.

We are all either bringing or sharing rigs.
Marc Tbo and I are traveling together and staying in his hard side tent trailer.
Ian is bringing the Shaggin Waggin, Tommy is bringing his House on Wheels and Dave is staying with him.
Mark and Jude are bringing the MoHome as well. Barry is tenting it...what a fewl!! LOL.
There is one more person for sure, but I have drawn a blank as to who it is, might be Paul....not 100% sure though.
If Benge comes I am sure he will bring the camper.
 
Should be a great time. I heard Art Bourne is coming also. I guess I better get loading or at least look around for some leftovers to shoot. I'm not even sure what I'm going to bring. I guess it'll be the one I have the most leftovers for. Might wind up with a different gun every day. Man I hate work.

It is a good map, another good thing is; if you can't follow the ciggy butts, and all the bread crumbs we left you are gone, just stop and turn the truck off every 5 or 6 kms, listen for gunfire from the south. The garbage blasters are at it from sunrise to sunset. You can't miss it. Another good clue is the sign that says "Alberta Provincial Rifle Association" at Homestead Road. Yuk Yuk.

PS: I think someone is paying Kodiak to phone me and keep me from working. Laughed and giggled for 2 hours on the phone last night so I was up til after midnight to get the stuff done. Still haven't had any time to load nothing. Might have to borrow some. I know they'll fit. I have a big rubber mallet.
 
Hey, just out of curiosity...what are the dimensions of the X/10 V/5 rings at 8 and 900?

I assume you use V-Bull, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GOOSE-EGG
 
See, instead of working, I get all balled up on this thing. I'm late, missed the first assignments for today so I'll be up to midnight again.

Anyway, Peter got the bona fide Palma targets when he was in Ottawa. The X ring is 10", the 10 ring is 20" the 9 ring 32" the 8 ring is 44". We're going to put a 5" F Class "X" in the middle, then the rings drop a number in value. The TR X is a 10 for us, the TR 10 is a 9 for us, etc. Gets pretty small, pretty quick. You'll love it. Oh Yah, it's the same dimensions 'cause it's the LR Target. Same thing all the way out from 7 to 900 or 8 to 1000

Ian, the Hobbs type person always thought the "Winfield Vee" was 15mm. Have you heard from Bsleeper? Is he coming too?
