April purchases

There is a very good chance that my grandmother test fired that Bren before it left the Inglis plant in 1944... or knew the girl that did.

Either that... or soldered the mag.

Nice piece.

That's cool. I wonder if she tested this one too:

It still goes bang (if I could take it to the range, that is).

Rumor has it this is an East German refurb. The bore is very sharp and spotless and it came with sight hood/cleaning rod/sling so I'm happy. Edited, yep, it's an East German.

Yes, these pictures are backwards. Markings are "MK-2" on the stock near the butt, "43" on the butt plate, "swp 45" and "Mod. 98" on the receiver with a blank space in between, and faint German markings on either side of the receiver markings near the bottom.

A bit behind the times but might just as well through it in at the end of the month here. Top is a Remington 03-A3 I found in the EE from CGN member eos and bottom is a Long Branch No4* form CGN member longbranch* I de-bubbafied. Both guys were outstanding to deal with!
The ’03 came to me late last year and the Long Branch a few months ago.

I'm a little behind in posting and at least one pre-dates April but here goes.

It started early with this. A family friends father's Mk1 Webley which he carried in the RN during the Boxer Rebellion!

Most recently is this Maltby MK4, .22 conversion which came from the ee.

Lastly is this fine looking LB Bren.

The Bren is great because it allows me to have the Great Canadian Rhyming Gun set:

stencollector,
You're right. I swear it was poor typing skills.
LB Sten, Inglis Bren, Herstal FN.

Klunk,
Run? Only if I pick them up and move fast.
Both the Sten and Bren are older deacts and make sounds familiar to you ie 'klunk'.
The FN is a sad and recent sacrifice. Worked until about a year ago. Mind you it had fewer than 100 rds through it. It was a choice between a TIG welder and a cutting torch. Serial number 39.

John

Thanks for the information. It does have RIC stamped on it. The friend who passed it on always referred to it as a Mk 1.
