From the tow cables on the front, I assume it doesn't run

it doesnt STOP....brakes needed some love....park break functioned well enough for the towing operation

Also decided not to try to start it until fuel tanks were cleaned out as well as lines and filters

Well, I finally got my hands on an FR8. :D This was actually a January purchase, but I just received it today. This was due to the MO getting lost in the mail and I had to wait 50 + days to get a duplicate MO from Canada Post. So a big thanks goes out to quattro93 for his patience! I know it was a rough first deal in the EE! :p It was the hardest for me yet and it was no fault of his. So cheers bud!

some bubba work but all three have complete bolts so it's just a matter of stock duplication and fitting parts.

Mauser Banner K98 & 1950 Longbranch.

Here's a couple toys I picked up this month. First up is a cool Mauser "Banner" K98. Barrel/action is a Chinese contract, all matching except triggerguard/floorplate assembly and the banner marked stock which is from an RC. Really just filling a slot until I find a collectable one. Love that Banner.

Next up is a clean, matching 1950 Long Branch C No.4 MKI*. Picked this up at the recent Lund's "Firepower" auction. Overheard two guys talking about splitting it up! One wanted the furniture to complete a bubba job for display and the other would make barrelled action into his "truck gun". Couldnt allow this so I outbid them and glad I did. Bore is prestine!.

I found this on the EE...

I think I may have over paid a bit... but oh well... I like it...

I started a thread a bit lower... cause I'm not sure if this is in good shape or not... I've only really seen them in person in museums... those ones look better because they were put in there in like new condition and climate controlled...

The unit marks are all but gone... and the stock has been shortened... but the metal looks pretty good... and the bore is very good... and the barrel is the original length...I found a nose cap for it... so I think I'll try my hand at lengthening the stock (it's pooched anyways!)

Top to bottom, No.4 Mk.1 sporter, CIL 12ga. pump, Cooey Mod. 75. I received the Enfield and shotgun from my ex father in law to keep them in the family and pass them on to my kids when the time comes. The Cooey is for my boys to learn to shoot on this summer.

I what is the barrel length? I bought one exactly like it under the same circumstances (aka being a little less than well read up on Ross rifles). Turns out lots were sported professionally in the Britain exactly like that (the BNP marks are a dead give away so I'm told), wood sanded and shortened, and also the barrel shortened and the foresight properly re-attached. Your wood looks to be better than mine, but I got mine real cheap, so I'm not complaining. But it does make me hungry enough need a complete original one too.

Man that's a beautiful Enfield! Love those in perfect condition ones. I'm jealous.

Just remember, it's not overpaying if you really want it.

Finally I can post here! Got my 2 k31's and gp11 from tse today...very happy with them.

top one is a refurb made in 1940 and bottom is a police k31 which I believe is made in 1956 (dated here: http://www.radix.net/~bbrown/schmidt_rubin.html#m31) I'm assuming police and private series k31's are the same thing
