April Purchases

Interesting indeed, If there is anything else I cna check for that might give more clues to its history let me know. What I'm wondering is why the poor finish on the frame?
Only other markings on the frame

No issues with me re-parkerizing it then? I doubt it will hurt the value.

IMHO, leave it alone.

It is a unique piece of history as is.

All of the pertinent stamps are there and the finish is original to what the Danes did to it after milling off the MkI sight and soldering on the MKII sights.

As far as I'm concerned, if I had the choice between your pistol as is and a repark, I would take the pistol as is.

I also feel that you would devalue the pistol from it's current value as well as losing out on the money paid out to repark it.

Your pistol, your choice.

For this month, picked up a decent 1945 Turkish M1938 Kirikale mauser in 8x57 (Bore is great, but like most of these, the bolt is a mis-match) and a Brazilian M1935 Mauser in excellent condition (unissued) with all the accessories (not all depicted). Interestingly, the Turk bayonet is marked "ASFA", usually they have no markings apart from an old serial number or have been scrubbed.

For those that don't know, unlike most Turk Mausers, the Kirikale M38's aren't refurbs, but rather new manufacture 98's built on surplus Czech 98/22 machinery.
