hi i just bought a rifle and i am shooting winchester super x ammo. it a 30-06. it costs me $1.15 a shot using factory. will i save money buy reloading? or am i better off using the same factory ammo?

Once your reloading tools are paid for, yes, you can save some money. It depends on which bullets you select to reload, etc. I look at it this way.... I may not save money, but I can shoot a lot more for the same price. You can also custom taylor your ammo to your own rifles, plus I would feel more confident using ammo I carefully loaded myself than I would factory ammo. It's also very satisfying harvesting game with ammo you loaded / developed yourself. It's a hobby that I love.

I guess it would all depend on how often and how much you shoot each time. If for just hunting sighting ( 20 or less a year)?????. The cash outlay is a fair amount for the equipment and supplies such as powder, bullets, casings and primers. Approx cost per cartridge is $.10 for powder...$.50 for casing...$.35 for bullet...$.04 for primer ...Total..About $1.00 after first firing you have the casings so cost is 1/2 .
The press and loading equipment is about $100-$125. Depending of course which brand you buy. So shoot a lot....get a reloader kit....shoot little...???????. Reloading can be rewarding also.

well im going to shoot factory till i get lots of brass i have over 50 now. i dont plan on lloading till next year when i have lots of brass. so i wont save much money but it will kill some time and get an addictoin

Soon you will be impressed with the groups you are achieving and start to strive for more. The next thing you know you will decide that you have to reload for every rifle you own, if you shoot it alot or not. Then you will meet someone with a "really nice" press. Next thing you know you will have one too. Soon the case tumbler, case trimmer and all the rest of the toys will arrive. Are you going to shoot more with more accuracy if you do your part, hell yah. Are you going to save money, ah well that's what I tell my wife

I've just started reloading-I bought a couple of very nice 9,3x57's-and the Norma ammunition is $47 a box-plus shipping[$20]making reloading virtually a neccesity.I fired my first batch-impressive -now I want to see how it works on a moose
