Hi

Im looking into getting an AR15 now that there are 10 round mags made for the 762.39

Everything I find is over 1500-2000$ range.

Im looking for just a basic model, and Ill add on that I feel is necessary down the road.

If you know good companies or a weblink, please tell and show :D

Thanks

The only 10rnd mag you can legally use on an AR platform is the LAR15 but that's in .223 because it's classified as a "pistol" magazine. I'm not aware of a 10rnd LAR15 pistol mag for x39.

I've seen some CGN'ers buying em and having good success with em. Figured they'd ironed out the bugs by now. Would be nice to have a NR black rifle like an XCR/ACR design. :(

To be clear I mean no offence to XCR guys but.....If the rumors are true....I'm still not buyin one.

IMO its just not a good value for a non restricted rifle that I see at the range more than out in a field anyway. I have seen a few have major malfunctions/breakages for no appearant good reason. I'm not sayin AR's never fail but I believe they fail a lot less compared to others.

On a side note...with the super affordable cost of 7.62x.39 its got me rethinking building a piston op'ed, 16" chrome lined barrel Ar around this cal. I already got most of the parts other than the barrel.....Might be a real fun project.

I was thinking a 16-18 with a mid length would be awesome fun.

@ XCR 762x39 10 round mag Owners.

Are they not the same as standard AR15 magazines? So a 762 mag made for the XCR would work in a AR15(762x39) design

Hmm, my XCR has never been to a range, has gone through about a case and a half of cheap 762X39 and no major problems. Had problems with it in 223, got rid of junk mags and runs good now too. Just my experience.

I think the rumors were true, but the more recent XCRs are good. Mine has been flawless. The only issues you'll have in x39 are the mags, but you'll have the same issue with an AR-15.

Dlask made a batch of 7.62x39 uppers last, I picked up the one back in January, I am pretty sure with enough interest Joe can be convince to do anther run.

just remember to ugrade your hammer spring, because those surplus ammo have hard military primer

I've got a half dozen of the 7.62 mags for my XCR and they've been flawless for function. The last couple rounds are a tight fit.

I put Magpul ranger plates on them and that makes them easier to handle.
