AR-15 7.69 x 39 muzzle brake question?

No, as I said earlier, A linear brake is not louder than having no muzzle device as tested with a decibel meter. A traditional brake is louder to the shooter. Feel free to do your own testing as I have.

The person took my post to mean something it did not. I am not arguing with what testing he does. He can bring out his gear and test my rifle if he wants to verify my findings

Fair enough, I misunderstood. Suputin's point that a linear brake doesn't reduce noise enough to avoid hearing damage is still valid. If you worry about a lack of hearing protection with a braked rifle then you should still worry about it with a linear brake.

while linear comps don,t lower the sound, they do push all blast forward and away from the shooter, to the felt blast and noise is reduced.

I needed a 45 ACP flash hider for my HK USC but finding one was difficult especially one that didn't look weird. Ordered up a seekins precision one for a AR10, stuffed it in my lathe and bored it out using an end mill in the chuck. Problem solved.

What kind of barrel do you have on your USC? Did you thread the original or did you get a different one?

A friend of mine has converted a USC into a full-on UMP and I think that they are amazingly ###y.

Dlask barrel. I have the Hera UMP stock on mine too. Cheaper than spending thousands of dollars on all the bits for a UMP conversion and then lose half the money if you sell it.
