AR-15 Accuwedge

I remember seeing One Shot Tactical had a few in...They are okay for tightening up the play between receivers but they actually can cause more ware on your rifle apparently, don't quote me on that though...

Could anyone confirm this? I have also read that they add more stress on the upper and lower receivers, especially on the rear take down pinhole / pin wearing them prematurely.

I love mine. Really reduced the play in the receiver for $5. I doubt it would actually cause premature wear on a receiver. They are on all the C7 and C8 rifles on my base and these rifles have gone through hundreds of thousands of rounds and I have yet to hear of one affecting the receiver.

Cut .125" off the bottom. Reinstall in rifle.
USAMU had an article a few years ago saying they do nothing for accuracy and make rifles harder to take apart.

I tried one once. Got it for free. Didn't tighten up the groups. They should remove the Accu and just call it "The Wedge".

I don't mind a little slop in my upper fit. Makes me think of AK's and original 1911's.
Kind makes the gun feel a bit more reliable in an odd sort of way.

Here's a penny solution. Cut a couple thin strips of electrical tape and stick them to the edges of the upper or lower receiver near the release pin. That should get rid of any play and cure your rattle. You may need to wipe the edges of the receiver where you're going to stick the tape with some rubbing alcohol or acetone to degrease it.

If welding an upper to lower results in zero improvement in accuracy, jamming anything between the receiver's is probably not going to make much of a difference.

Anyone has any experience of having one installed on theirs?
Anyone knows where I could get one here in Canada?

One came stock on my 20 year+ Colt Comp HBAR. No real difference in accuracy, just takes the rattle out if that floats your boat. No pin wear issues I have experienced.
