Hey Guys,

Are all BCGs compatible with all uppers? I'm building an AR right now and I've gone with an NEA lower, a Stag lower parts kit and an NEA upper. I'm not sure what to drop in for a BCG. Any suggestions on what would work and where to buy it would be great!

Thanks,
Trevor

From all my research during this first build, I've learned one thing. Don't skimp on the BCG. Invest in any of these if finances allow DD, Spikes', LMT or NEA. Most of these are dropping in with no checking of headspacing being done or required. While any part can fail at anytime the previously mentioned manufacturers seem to have the least problems in terms of quality & reliability.

Very true I have built 6 ar's and never had a problem with lmt, spikes or DD. dpms bcgs are pretty scetchy on what you get

The new nea bcg's are great too

If you can, get a set of Go and No-Go headspace gauges and check the headspace once your build is complete. The chances of the headspace being wrong is slim but it's still good to know that your AR-15 good to go.

Thanks guys. Wolverine's website says their "Armalite M-15 Bolt Carrier Group Complete" is out of stock. Any other suggestions on where to find either an NEA or DD BCG? Also I've never heard of Go-No-Go head space gage. Any of the CGN sponsors carry that?

My lower parts kit and uppers should be in tomorrow! I'm way to OCD to have half an AR sitting around. I'd like to finish it ASAP!

Thanks guys.

BCGs' are worth their weight in gold right now.

OSTS isn't sure when the DD BCGs' will be back in, as DD Isn't taking any new orders for them or LPKs' at this time. Probably going to be the same for any DD Distributer right now.

NEA, hasn't updated their webstore in sometime, but a quick email might clarify the availability.

LMT & Spikes' Nik-Boron units are avail for pre-order via Questar if your willing to spend the extra $$$ on higher end units.

S'all I got for ya :D

Be very, very careful buying a BCG off the EE unless you can positively identify its manufacturer.
It looks like Norinco parts are now finding their way into parts guns. Just because the BCG came out of an LMT upper doesn't mean it's LMT.
You could well find that you've paid full pop for what you were led to believe was a quality BCG when what you actually got was a Norinco BCG.
My advice is to buy a BCG from a reputable business where you can be sure you're getting what you pay for. Trust me on that one.

Given Nea's p!ss poor reputation for quality, honesty and integrity I would knock them off the list of quality BCGs right away. You simply can't trust that they will deliver a safe quality product. And before you say it, I am sure that the warranty doesn't cover replacement fingers or eyes.
