hey guys, i went to RONA and HomeDepot and Canadian tires with no luck at all, anyone know where i could find such thing in victoria bc ??? please and thank you !!!

You have a fasteners place like Fastenal or Acklands around you. They should be able to help you out.

Have you measured it so you could just call around and check if its carried. I would imagine they are kinda standard size. 1/16" x 1/4" if I remember correctly. ;)

I broke the identical pin on my Brownells Steel Power Custom charging handle. I replaced that pin with a 1/16" pin that that had to shorten with my dremel cut-off tool.

Set or start the pin in the top half of the braced charging handle... yeah, just get it started and with your wife or G/F applying light pressure to the latch and spring (holding it all down and lined up), tap the rest of the pin home. Easier said that done, but I got it done and I feel super relieved now.

The spare pins can be found in a "Roll Pin Kit" at Princess Auto. Trial and error fit to see what size pin works. Give it a go.... :D

Cheers and keep helping the newbs out there!

Put the handle on the edge of the bench. Then assemble the latch and spring and hold it together with a 1/16 pin punch inserted from below.

Drive the pin in from the top and the other punch falls out.

Make sure it is below flush or you will damage receiver.

No need to let the wife know you have an AR!

Brownell's carries the pin, bit you might be better off cutting some drill rod to length if you are using an extended latch.

The stoopid CF latch broke so often they were replaced with solid pins.
