I was wondering how I could separate the stock from the buffer tube so I can fit a different stock? I'm guessing I have to push the pin out holding the nut on the plunger screw, then backing that out? Or is there a simpler way?

I tried to do a search, but I have never had any luck using the search tool on this site. I apologize if this has been asked several times before.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link, OldRanger...but that page seems to only show how to swap stocks, not actually remove the stock from the buffer tube. I need to remove my collapsible stock from its buffer tube as I want to reuse the buffer tube with a different stock.

Would you happen to know how to do this? Thanks.

I'm not sure of the correct terminology, so bear with me. Use the correct size pin punch & gently tap out the pin that holds on the spring loaded pivot "doo-hickey". The mechanism should come apart easily, and then the collapsable stock should slide off the buffer tube.

You should be able to pull on the locking mech on the butt stock and pull the entire butt off the buffer tube. Pull out on the angled end and that should raise the pin that locks the butt into its different positions so you can pull the butt off.

Hey, thanks! I tried it on my Tapco stock and it worked! I knew there had to be an easier way to do this.
