ar 15 front takedown pin options

hey, my old sp1, if i remember correctly had some type of thread together take down pin, correct? but my newer armalite has the one with a detent, like the rear pin.. anyone know where i can swap my newer style for one thats threaded? or where i could find a threaded one?

i just want to buy, or swap front take down pins.. i have the regular one with a detent, and i'd like to swap for one of the threaded ones that doesn't require a spring, with detent pin..

Can you eleberate on what you did ?
The pins are differant sizes you would have to enlarge you upper and lower to make the other one fit (and then some )

You could use this but you'd still have to enlarge the holes on your lower

so that will let me retain my .250 armalite upper.. and simply drill out my lower a little bigger? the hole isn't in a slightly different place, just bigger? and then its a screw together unit? and will it work for the rear pin also?

ya, that'll work, the regular kns pivot pin. .250 diameter. just a pin that is held in place by a threaded screw. do you know how those push button pivot pins work?

I have the push button pins in both of my ARs. They work great. I got sick and tired of losing the detents and springs. Mostly due to my own negligence.
