I have tried to order an AR-15 handguard removal tool from a number of websites in the U.S., but none will ship to Canada. Does anyone know where I can find an AR-15 handguard removal tool in Canada?

Have you tried ordering from Brownell's? I order parts from them all the time for my garand and AR15, along with tools. I don't think you'll have an issue, good prices and service too.

I'm pretty sure that Questar has them listed, Their ad is at the top of the pages here.

That being said though, I'd save my money to spend on other items for your rifle. The spring will loosen up over time an if it is stiff now, tap the butt on the ground/bench top lightly while pulling back on the slip ring and it will allow you to release the tension enough to remove the hand guards.

Handguard removal tool?

Your own two hands...

After all, about 100,000 CF personnel can't be wrong...

Eeh... I've seen some so tight that two people with a handguard removal tool have a hard time removing it. I wonder how the F they get them on so tight sometimes...

I know shyte about civilian rifles. But in the CF, you don't pass go and you don't collect your rifle if you can't strip it. I've seen lots of soldiers struggle with handguards, including myself a time or two. But I have yet to see a C7/A1/A2 that the individual soldier couldn't get the handguards off. Including the girls.

Not saying that the impossible ones aren't out there - I have no doubt they are. But I've been teaching weapons classes on the C7 family since they came out and so far everyone including the ladies have managed to get the handguards off.

If I ever did encounter a rifle that needed a tool - not issued - to remove the handguards for cleaning, that rifle would go to the gun plumbers.

A good pair of channel lock pliers with plastic coated handles works just fine.Put handles on each side of hand guard ring press down with your hands.

This may or may not help as it work on my M4. I had the butt of my stock on the floor with the barrel pointed to the ceiling. When you wrap your thumb and forefinger around the Delta ring and push it down as far as it will go then just push a little more only on the side that you are removing the piece of the handguard. After you get one piece off repeat this for the other side.

Ummm, what are ya.. weak?? LOL :D

Can take mine off and put 'em back on by my little 'ol self..
Then again, I am pretty awesome... :D :D LOL

As far as the railed forearm comment...

Ummm, why would one always end up going that route?? Don't make sense to ADD weight to a rifle unless you have a specific use for what it can do for you.. No?? ;)

Ohh wait, where's the mirror so I can take some pictures of me and my AR with railed forearm that gets 200 rounds a year from a bench put through it.. :D LOL

There.. that should piss off the mirror commandos!!

LOL....I love using the forend grip. Hey and I have passed the 200 rounds in my first couple of weeks, not from a bench but standing. :p

As an ex-infantry soldier in the CF, let me say that I can not get the f-ing handguards off my new Norc M4. Well, without damaging it in someway. I never had a problem with C7's, either they aren't cranked on as tight by Diemaco/Colt Canada, or the 1,000's of other guys and girls before us loosened them up.

Indeed...

Once in awhile you run into a virgin tight AR...

AR handguards vary in length. Sometimes they just squeak by the delta ring no matter what tool you use
