I usually get some good advice from knowledgeable people (some not so) I have recently purchased a stripped lower to assemble and am just waiting for Marstar to get in their LPK back in stock. While I wait. I keep trying to gain input about what parts kits to use. My question for all you "pros" is... mil-spec rifles use standard pins for hammer and trigger but I keep reading about KNS anti walk pins. The Marstar kits is a full auto mil-spec kit and after talking to their armorer about them he has reassured me that they are good quality. This will be my first assembling so I want to know what you guys would choose?

anti walk pins are a waste of money and are simply there to look cool. how many pins have 'walked out' of rifles issued to the military, close to nil if not nil. not to mention you won't be shooting FA

^^ THIS ^^
If your pins are walking out then you have another problem.
The anti-walk/anti-rotation pins are really only good for full auto guns to prevent the holes from going oval under prolonged use and prolonged fire.

Side note: Why are you waiting for Marstar to get stock? Lots of lower parts kit suppliers around

DLASK still has in-stock lower parts kits for $80. This is the cheapest that I have found and all of the parts fit well.

Im sorry, I seem to keep posting in the wrong section =)
Thanks for the input. My current AR does not have anti walk pins and she seems to do just fine. I have been waiting for Marstar because im not in a big hurry for my assembly to be completed. I just wanted their kit because they tell me it is a good kit and (hopefully) being "mil-spec" I will end up with quality parts. Been reviewing other kits and I hear about out of spec parts or missing parts from the kits. The general consensus I have gathered seems to be stay away from CMMG and PSA kits. I would like a DD kit but can't find one in stock.

I was very impressed and happy with the quality of the DD LPK. I will use them again. Questar sells ones with higher end triggers, single, and double stage triggers. my next DMR build might go double stage. i shot one once and it was fantastic

Dlask sells 2 lower parts kits there Milspec m16/ar15 is the same kit sold at marstar and the Ar15 kit mentioned here pretty much the same as DPMS a bit better but close Your buying parts you really dont need with the m16 kit ,I have built lowers with Marstar dlask and DPMS (panther) .
They are all pretty much the same the mil spec set does seem to be a bit heavier and smoother finish hammer/trigger but all the pins , detent springs all are basically the same , Do yourself a favour IMOP and buy yourself a set of enhanced push button pivot and rear takedown pins and don't bother with the mil spec front and rear detent /springs if your changing uppers often the enhanced pins are a real treat , putting the front mil spec detent/spring can be a pain in the butt get a very thin piece of Metal to slide between the pin and detent hole .
Anyways all the kits are basically the same unless your going to get into higher end trigger groups .

my CMMG LPK has been flawless. no issues with install or function.
