AR-15/M-16 Magazines

Has anyone tried these mags yet? Any review online about them yet?

I've read through all the posts and apart from Marstar ad copy, all I can ascertain is that they are:

- Made by an un-named company in a yet to ber ascertained country
- Made of steel (stainless or carbon steel?)
- Coloured black (parkerized, blackened stainless, teflon coated, etc.?)
- Have thicker steel than normal (will aftermarket followers and/or ranger plates fit? I want to know before spending $40/mag is I can use magpul followers and ranger plates)

I think these are valid questions:

1) what kind of steel are these made of?
2) what coating is applied to make them black?
3) will magpul or tactipul followers and floorplates fit without causing binding or feeding issues due to the thicker steel walls?
4) are there any markings on these mags to differentiate them from any other mags?
5) Are they magnetic or non-magnetic (i.e. will a magnet stick to them)
6) What do they weigh?
7) Are they pinned to exactly 5 or are they 5.5 so they can be inserted on a closed bolt?

Not trying to be difficult, but these are the things I need to know before buying any higher-end AR mag.

Of course, another thing I'd like to know PERSONALLY is that I am buying my mags from a NATO member country. Frankly, I try to not support the military-industrial complexes of countries that aren't NATO members.
 
the only real question is why would you go through all that bull when you can order 6 P mags for 120 bucks from questar ?
 
I already have a ton of Pmags and LAR15 mags, but I'd consider buying these too if they take anti-tilt followers and are NATO country manufactured, just to try them out, put them through their paces, etc.

If I can't verify NATO origin though, I'll pass.

What is the hang up on Nato country, you don't support any country that is not a member of Nato ?
I therefore conclude you do not have any products in your home from Taiwan, China, Japan, Mexico, just to mention a few ?

I can tell you that although the producer is in a western friendly country they are not a member of Nato....

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I realize that most things are made in China, for AR stuff, however, there is a huge supply of NATO ally countries making good AR mags and when I can buy from our allies, I do.

I'm sure they are very nice mags and I wish Marstar all the success in the world in selling them. As a friendly spot of advice though, you might sell more of them if you posted more detailed info about what people are buying.

From an earlier post, many guys would be more interested if you listed answers to:

1) what kind of steel are the bodies made of? Stainless? Chromoly?
2) what coating is applied to make them black? Teflon? Parkerizing? Blueing?
3) will magpul or tactipul followers and floorplates fit without causing binding or feeding issues due to the thicker steel walls? This would be easy to check.
4) are there any markings on these mags to differentiate them from any other mags?
5) Are they magnetic or non-magnetic (i.e. will a magnet stick to them) this might be redundant info in you divulge whether they are stainless or chromo.
6) What do they weigh? (empty, of course)
7) Are they pinned to exactly 5 or are they 5.5 so they can be inserted on a closed bolt? (also easy to check)

C-Products says that Marstar and TSE are their Canadian distributors.

No offense taken, we have NOT published our prices on C products as yet.... But you already know the prices to be too expensive ?? How do you dertermine this ??

High Quality carbon steel....

They are polished and deep blued....

There are no such issues, we tested and evaluated many mags before we accepted the final production version.

Since this run was exclusive to Marstar we chose to have no markings on tha mags....

They can be inserted on a closed bolt in the weapon platforms we conducted our test on....

Thanks John - great info :).

Maybe when CPC is off strike I might order a couple to try. The carbon steel thing is interesting - they might look good blasted and parkerized... ;)
