Did annyone ever ordered any AR-15 mags (30 rounds) from Brownells and then have a gunsmith to lock them at 5 rounds? Can we legally do this?

Im not sure what is the law regarding this issue so thats why i'm asking the question here before I buy annything from the yankees.

Thank's

No one can import prohibited magazines into Canada and then pin them here for the civilian market. It is against the law. They must be pinned before imported into Canada.

The answer is No - your magazines will be seized and someone had been arrested for doing something like this before.

What about if they are not put together, nothing wrong with parts right?

Not anymore! You will get charged most likely especially if they are not declared, CBSA no longer allows this. Reason the court case out west changed their view on it!

Pretty much sucks balls now, and will probably get worse!

If only... apparently now the courts consider even a disassembled magazine BODY without a pin to be a "prohibited device." Not the follower, not the spring or the baseplate... just the body.

So, sadly, this approach doesn't work; nor is it legal in the courts' eyes.

When did this change? Anything down on paper besides word of mouth?

Thanks Brordo.

R v. Cancade - conviction on all counts, for just possessing the 'shells' as they termed them.

Lame, but that's the caselaw.
