AR-15 midlength

I've got a MRP here as well as my middy URX - I will try to get some pics up in a bit (when I find my disk for photoshop -- new laptop as the last crashed)

Sooo does anyone in Canada offer a stock 1:7 twist 16" bbl upper with a midlength gas system?

I tried to get a CMMG in but after >8 months and no luck getting it, I went with Armalite. Maybe I was to picky when I requested a mid-weight contour barrel... As it turns out the Armalite was listed as heavy but it resembles more a mid-weight, I am happy..

If one was to go with a an Armalite mid-length from Wolverine what Upper would you guys recommend the A2 or A4?

I primarily want to use the iron sights but would the A2 prevent me from using optics down the road? I've seen some mounted on the carry handle but I don't know if that is a reasonable compromise with it mounted so high up on the gun. I've had some limited experience with a C7 with irons several years back.

The A4 upper is obivously more flexible but what would one expect to pay for decent flip-up sights and would an additional rail be required to make it all work?

I'm looking at the OD mid-length from Wolverine and finding it hard to resist as I'm sure others here are as well.

You can expect to pay roughly $150 for a flip up sight... so around $250-300 for a set (front and back). Alternatively, you can use a standard front sight gas block and a detachable carry handle on an A4 upper, this really gives you the best of both worlds. When you wanna use optics, just remove the carry handle and you're good to go.

If you want flip up front and rear sights then you'll definitely need an A4 upper and a railed gas block, or railed forearm to cover a low-profile gas block.

I bought an RRA 16" from Questar, I'll be putting an Acog on it, but I'm not sure which one is made for the 16". I've heard the TA31F, can anyone provide me with some clarification on this? (Or, is there a less costly option that will provide the same performance?)
Thanks

Personally, I'm a firm believer in the stock front sight. It's cheap, rugged and it will always be there when you need it. It isn't really noticeable with optics either. So to answer your question, get an A2 barrel with an A4 upper, get yourself a good BUIS or carry handle and your good to go.
