AR-15 Safety Woes

Safety would click into Safe, but would not click smoothly into fire.

Checked all the obvious things and took it to the gunsmith.

In 10 seconds he gave me a terrible look and pointed out that the lever was hitting the new rubber pistol grip.

Insert face palm here.

this is like the time I called our IT department because my emails were being suddenly deleted from my inbox. turned out the armrest on my chair was hitting the delete key.

Exact same thing happened to me, except I figured it out by myself haha

This isn't the first time I've heard of this problem with the Hogue grip.

The new Hogue grips with the beaver tail have a recess to allow the safety to clear without issue.

But using a Dremel and a few minutes smoothing out that area and you will be fine.
