AR 15 "spex" PDW stock

just going to end up like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.

Never underestimate the power of the one legged man in an ass kicking contest.:p

Where the AR based PDW really shines is in 300 Whisper (BLK). Even with a very short barrel, the round doesn't lose velocity like the 556 and it is much quieter because the Whisper burns so much less powder. So you have a compact, stealthy package that packs a hell of a wallop with from a 200 gr .30 cal bullet. Whats not to like?

Can't wait to see this SPEX system and 300BLK!!

.300 Blackout uppers would be very welcomed but that stock system seems pointless.

So its 2 inches shorter, great? How about the non-existant cheek weld? Looks like a .300 blackeye waiting to happen :)

If you can't see the benefit then it isn't likely for you. In fact it has very few sporting use qualities.

However; without exception every agency, department and professional end user that we have showed this to has only had two questions; when and how much?

The CP end-user asset alone is amazing. It provides a rifle caliber platform in a sub gun size. Is there any other reason?

To top it off, H&K, Colt and several others are on the PDW R&D game.. This is the only solution engineered that doesn't require a piston-driven platform... The only solution available as a retrofit.

... Starting to see the interest?

I'm also betting that the reduced LOP will be of great interest to the Couch-Commandos who can choke up a littlew tighter with their safe queens. ;)

Hey I get the concept but isnt a good repeatable cheek weld a very basic fundamental of shooting?

Maybe extend your buttstock portion so it has a place for your cheek instead of a gap but I bet that would interfere witht he charging handle. You need a Larue type of sliding cheek rest.

How much shorter is it than a standard carbine stock when collapsed? An inch or two?

Planning to add a couple more position notches to the stock bars?

Cheek weld isn't that important when you a slaying bodies 3 feet away. :D

Really though, the short buffer tube is about where your cheek would be.

Production version is a 12 position and has more cheekweld. Parties that are interested are so because of the collapsed size, not the extended length.

.. Nail on the head; CP don't care about full length comfort when they concentrate on <15m threats. Point, bang, drop.

Just curious of the PDW stock will fit on standard uppers, or if there is modification required?

Will fit on any standard DI AR rifle..

For that matter, will also work just fine on an piston rifle, yo just get to remove some pieces.

,.. even fit on many platforms with an AR stock receiver just so long as there's enough of a space for the rods to pass alongside.

Is this a stock/buffer tube only setup, or will the purchaser need to replace the carrier or any internal parts?

Sweet Jesus, THANK you for pointing all this out...

If you have to ask why this is a revolution in AR-based PDWs, then you don't get what a PDW is used for (or in which type of situation).

PDW does not mean "shoots well from bench after much coddling."

This is a phenomenal leap forward, and I'm thrilled to see this collaboration materialize.

Yes, very well done Saputin, Spex and North Eastern!

Ha Ha, this thing is so compact I'll be able to see myself in a hand mirror at the range :D
