I have a 10.5inch ar15 from bushmaster all tricked out, but I now bought a full size Swiss arms and i am thinking of selling my AR 15 for another carbine rifle ...what do you cgn'ers think of the HK umc .... 45 cal sub gun??? Or should I be looking at a 9mm sub gun like a TP9... Or should I just keep the dam ar15

And also is there anyway of getting the 16inch HK "re-barreled" to a much shorter length like a HK UMP???

A buddy of mine has the UMC, but he's had it rebarreled at 18.5". He loves the thing, and it's a nice compact, mean looking little gun. He's mounted a little red dot on it and it works well on varmints at close ranges.

I've fired it a few times. Light recoil and accurate for what it is. I find the safety a bit akward, but that could just be getting used to it. I was thinking about buying one, but due to cost and magazine capacity went with the Storm CX4 in .45 instead.

All depends on what you want to use the gun for I guess. AR's certainly usefull over 100 yards. :)

Against paper? Remember what class an AR15 is in Canada, not much use against varmints. Too bad really, cause they are very popular for varmint shooting down south in the US.

Guerrilla didn't say what he was doing with the rifle. If he's doing some CQB stuff then he's fine with a USC, if he's planning on doing longer range stuff then maybe sticking with his AR is better. They both look awesome though, so if it's to look cool on the range, either is good.

And yes, I wish I could use my AR for varmints. :(

We get the odd mouse scurrying across our range floor from time to time. My aim is bad for small moving targets but the ones that got away are probably deaf.
