AR-15's

Thanks Timbertec.

Your welcome dude... if you want to learn more about the piston system - there is a interesting article in ARF.com where they do some testing with a Ares Defense GSR-35 system... http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_118/479365_Gas_VS__Piston.html

Thanks again for the info. I'm trying to plan out my first AR, so finding more and more info about them is great. By the way, is there anywhere (besides the EE) that carries the VLTOR a-5 stock system?

Thanks EC.

It's a standard DD M4V5 and I upgraded the following:

Magpul MOE grip
Magpul AFG2 foregrip
PWS FSC556 Flash Suppressing Compensator
Spike Tactical ST-T2 buffer
Badger Ordnance Tactical Latch
B.A.D. A.S.S. ambi safety
Midwest Industries SPLP flip-up BUIS

The red dot scope on it now is just for tacticool for the pics and I'm looking to upgrade it. It's an old InterAims One V 30mm that I bought some 15yrs ago! Maybe an Aimpoint Pro or Eptech XPS2/EXPS2?

Looking at upgrading the MOE stock to a CTR.

Nice set up Trinimon,

I've been looking for MI SPLP rear sight for a while but no luck in Canada... just wonder where you got this nice set of SPLP sights from? Thank you for your time!!

Cheers,

The whole system concept is simular to the Ospray Defense 416 system?

More like the TNW system Marstar sells, but it has a matching bolt.
I wouldn't mind giving that thing a try, bet it's unobtanium in Canada tho.
I got a CMMG piston on my AR, love it, never misses a beat, eats everything I feed it, no tilt so far, easy clean up.

Heavy buffers dot com anti tilt buffer.

Actually, I got one of those for my CMMG kit. Might of been worth mentioning.

It's neat, I got the Kit that comes with a set of weights so I can tune it to be anywhere from 4 to 6 oz.
I've been running it at 5oz.
So really, I have no idea how the CMMG would run with a standard buffer . . . yet.
