Made a little progress on my SOPMOD Block II inspired build... ;)

My Daniel Defense complete factory 10.3" SBR. I changed out the FSB for a low pro gas block and installed a DD OmegaX 9.0 quadrail. I also changed out the Magpul SL-K stock for a LMT SOPMOD stock.

 
Finally got a chance to run the new upper I recently assembled.

Everything went smoothly...except that the linear compensator I'd bought for it developed a crack exactly like the last one (same model) that I'd bought.

So I bought one in the summer from CTC Supplies for a 10" A2 upper, and after about 50 rounds I noticed a crack and my rounds were being deflected 8 feet low at 50 yards. So I removed it, tried contacting Griffin Armaments directly, got no responses, BUT my friend has one on his 10.5" that works just fine, so I ordered a second one.

See that line around the rear of the compensator? That's a hairline crack that started with only 20 rounds fired.
I've already removed it and emailed CTC Supplies, now I'm waiting to see if they can get some answers from Griffin.
 
More progress on the SOPMOD Block 1.5/2 setup! Was able to snag a Chevron reticle ACOG 4x32, and setup some Larue style clips to hold the ATPIAL-C and M600V wires in place. Also decided on a slightly different location for the ATPIAL itself.

Interested to hear how it goes. Good luck! I guess I'll stick with my phony 5.5" on mine for now.
