Never seen a scratch on the lower like the one from the safety slector switch... was something caught under the end or was it just a tight fit.

Not sure. It is brand new and was like that when I got it. There is nothing caught underneath though, and the selector does not seem to touch the lower receiver at all. I am hoping some CLP will take it off. It is smooth to the touch though.
