AR-15's

Keeping it simple....for now

Hey folks. Looks like this will be the set up going to the range this spring...

At Longshot's Service rifle for beginner course. I borrowed a friends lower, which had a god awful trigger and put my upper on it. Once we we started shooting, the wife realized that the Eotech was a really poor choice for service rifle, so I lent her my ACOG(which worked wonderfully) and pilfered my 6.5-20 Mark 4 from my AR10 to put on my 16" Noveske barreled VLTOR VIS upper.

This franken gun shot groups close to 1" in the prone supported(Mag on the ground) using PMC 55gr at 100m. Now if I could only get my AR10 to shoot this good...

The wife's with my ACOG:

Kinda expensive and harder to get around here. You could get a MOE from Armseast for cheaper and quicker:

(Very small difference in the locking mechanism. If you are not going to war, probably just as good as a CTR.)

After looking at all the gorgeous pictures of the AR's I am wondering why most don't have their carry handles on them. Is it better to mount all that stuff without the carry handle? I kind of like the look of the carry handle but I guess mounting a scope on top would make it too high. Please let me know.

Few more of the LMT. I couldn't stand the dry film lube stuff on the extension as it would come off easy, turn fingers black, etc. So I wiped it off.
