Ar 16" hbar

well to get into a debate about hbar vs light barrel is a little useless. why are they used in precision rifle applications??? In thoery it should be the same concept however the fact of the matter is its an AR not a precision rifle. As acurate as id like to make this while still maintaining the carbine look the biggest reason is because i like the look. never liked the look of a barrel with the step down area. Always prefered the look of my buddys bushmaster carbine hbar.

So you're not really talking about an HBAR, just a barrel that is the same diameter all the way to the flash suppressor. You're correct that in the past a lot of these have been HBARs but they're reffering to the diameter under the handguard, not past the FSB like you're talking. You can get HBARs that have the step in the barrel as well.

Personally I like 16" midlengths, most of these are straight (no step) after the FSB. Armalite and Rock River Arms are good sources of affordable barrels and their offerings may even be heavy under the handguards if that's what you truly want.
