AR 180B Discontinuation

Does anyone know why the AR 180B was discontinued from production? It doesn't seem like it was made for vary long.

The had to fill the back log of AR15 stuff so manufacturing was focused on that.

The is plans to bring it back into production and word is they will be updating it with an aluminum lower. I won't be holding my breath.

Apparently, they weren't as big of a seller down in the states as their line of AR-15's, so like Armedsask said, they focused production on the AR-15. However, they are looking into bringing the line back with a few changes in the next year or two.

Piston AR's are the new fad and Armalite has had a piston based rifle system for years. Apparently they are either retarded and doing nothing with it or they are actually looking at making an improved AR18 type rifle.

Are there any other non-restricted AR variants? The CZ 858 seems to be the only non-restricted 'assault' rifle available.

The AR-180B is not actually an AR-15 variant. It runs on a completely different system than the AR.

I have the itch to get a new non restricted black rifle soon. I just dont know whether I want to wait for Armalite to start selling the AR-180b-2's again or just get a XCR. I hope Armalite releases some new info soon to help me make my decision easier.

i thought that production has slowed and they are only making the 18 inch version with a flash hider making it a restricted if at all allowed for export, (ar180B2)

As I've said before, you will see a billet AR180B lower receiver for sale from me before you will see a new AR180B from Armalite.

That being said, I have no intention of offering billet AR180B lowers for sale in the near future, if at all.
