Not sure if they're pemanently discontinued. There have been rumors of Armalite considering making a version with aluminum lowers. And a while back ,there were hints of a possible Canadian made version, though there has been a lot of silence since then.

Back when I was making my aluminum lower, a friend was going through warranty stuff and talked directly with the Armalite guys. They claimed to be working on an aluminum lower as well. That was about 3 years ago.

Fact of the matter is, Armalite gains nothing by making an aluminum lower AR180B.

Anyone ever think of putting the charging handle on the left side of the 180b for ease of charging while staying on target. You either go over top or under to charge. Just throwing it out there. There is a product called the ak lightening bolt which this guy made to upgrade the ak-47. Just wonder if anyone did it or thought of doing.

I've thought about making one but in the end always comes to the point of enough modification that I might as well make a whole new upper.

I love the AR 180. I owned an original AR-180 made at the Costa Mesa factory by the original Armalite. It was a dream to shoot. Open site 100 yards it could and did drill loonies all day long. Easy to clean too.

Would be nice if there were an after market metal lower. Would buy one again.

Nice pics guys.
