Granted I'm a noob at black rifles, but I love my XCR. I'm not worried about one small screw in a divot holding my barrel in because the bolt locks into a barrel extension under fire. While it is subjective, I think the XCR is a quality built rifle. I agree that after looking at the dedicated forums, you'll have to agree that when you pull yours out of the box, you need to read the manual, completely disassemble it, clean and lube it, reassemble it with loctite then take it out for some fun. I do love it for the quality materials, ease of takedown, accuracy. It is front heavy, but that is our gun laws fault not the guns fault. Put an 18.5 inch barrel on any rifle and it will be front heavy.
For all the harsh words from folks here, I think they are forgetting that this is a brand new design, on a new fab setup. 30 years of ####ty AR's from 10 manufactures but it's the best damn rifle ever, the first 1000 rifles come out from Robinson and its a piece of junk? Look on the dedicated AR forums and they are littered with problems. Take the criticism of the XCR lightly.
If you get an XCR you will have to break it in as well. You may also have a small problem with the hole in the bolt face for the firing pin being a little too sharp. Pretty much 99% of all problems come down to bolt face (easy fix), break in (easy fix) or gas settings (already fixed). Anything else would liekly be a manufacturing defect and if you look on the forums, you'll see that Robarm are quick to solve problems for free.
