AR 180B2 vs XCR

My XCR will be shipping today or tomorrow depends on how many transfers they manage to get done today as they just arrived yesterday. I would like the Masada/ACR as well, but the Massoud or XCR-M is my next rifle that I await with great inpatience. ;)

considering rob arms practises and production timeings it will be what 5 years before you see a 308 XCR and your going to be way better off with the massaud giving the facts about the company who makes the acr having oncre canceled all production for another product

When I bought mine it was $2400, a ridiculous price for what you got.

so how much have you sunk into your 180B? flip up irons, full length quad rail, and it still would have a plastic lower. THE XCR would come with everything. I have shot both. XCR hands down. not even close. This is like comparing a chicom SKS to a fully decked out VZ58

I never said the AR180B, or any modified versions I've made, are better than the XCR. Please refrain from placing words in my mouth.

Yes, I have sunk a considerable amount into my AR180B. As I have said many a times when the topic comes up of how much I spend on projects, the money and end result is not a big factor. I've always liked to tinker. I would much rather have a rifle I built myself that costs $300,000 than a rifle that is exactly the same bought from factory for $10.

Why else would I spend the hundreds of dollars I did just to make a junk SKS look like an AK? I failed, but the way, destroying a rifle in the process. It's not the end result that is my joy, it is the process.

And just to clarify, my AR180B upper with free floated barrel and quad rail has a billet aluminum lower receiver with folding stock. So there. :D

I handled both,...and decided on the XCR,..the 180b felt like it had way too much plastic,...and not good plastic. both felt capable of making simliar results,...getting rounds down range. If I had a 180b, I would replace the stock,..the fore end with a rail platform......basically make it more like an XCR. I can understand wanting to build up the AR180b,..as I like to tinker a bit. end result is that I have a non-restricted black rifle I can use for IPSC/3 gun, and also Varmint hunting.

I bought a new XCR a few months ago - the last shipment I guess. I liked it as it was non-restricted and cheaper then the Swiss/Sig which i liked alot but it just didnt fit me well without mods.

I have shot American Eagle to date - about 400 rounds. One cycle miss which i cured by adjusting the gas valve. Accuracy was good for an auto but i am primarily a bolt / single shot guy and I expect a lot when it comes to accuracy - but it was better then i had hoped. Shot coyotes with it right away.

After reading of all these bugs, you'all got me worried, so last night I dissassembled the XCR to loctite it - and low and behold - every screw (but for the bolt hold release) was loctited. I of course re-did it and was good to go. So it did come from the factory with loctited screws. I figure the manual must referto older issue or perhaps what to do in case one ever loosens.

Not saying anything about the AR180 - i never even handled one.
