AR 223 loads.

Hi,
Looking for any input for loads with a 16 inch AR. (Stag), in 223/5.56.
I will be using H335, unless there are any other suggestions, with a 55 grain FMJ bullet.
Minimum and max loads would be appreciated.

My pet load is 25 grains h335 with a 52 gr SMK, it shoots great. I have never used 55 grain bullets so I suspect you will have to back that powder charge down a little.


h335 is a fine choice for 223 with bullets under 60 grains.

I am using 18 grs of 4198 IMR, over a 55 grain FMJ, my barrel is only 10.5" these loads are find for my indoor range shooting.

I like to use the lowest amount of powder because I get more rounds per pound, plus with the short barrel it still bangs like guys with 16" using hot loads.
