AR.308 What is available?

I am a bit out of my comfort zone here, but how much interest is there in something like the DPMS Panther LR 308?
I have been asked to bring in a couple,if there is sufficient interest in folks buying these I would bring in more.
I am not suggesting a group buy just trying to get a feel for a market that is not really my niche.

If you bring it in, they will come!, I already had 2 of John at wolverine ar10, and thinking of purchasing another from DPMS, looking at the sass in 308, but it got too short of a barrel 18", but if some body order them in to Kanada with a longer barrel 22 or 24" it will definedly be my next choice!

springfield m1a socomII.

not an AR, and also very ghey

I just got the scope for my DPMS. I went with the Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x 50mm. I have the 1000 yard Rapid Z reticle. The scope is very nice, and getting a proper site picture on the DPMS is extremely easy. The only thing is the charging handle is a bit awkward with the scope. I might eventually want to go to a tactical one, but it's not really that big of a deal. I'm very happy though with how the scope sits and the cheek weld. It seems to be perfect. I plan on getting out there this week to sight it in.

opinions vary but i have yet to hear a damning report on the mia socomII. they are being shipped to the mddle east for a reason and that is good enough for me. dpms is next on my list, nothing wrong with starting at the top and working your way down. lol. jk.

Maybe not ghey... :0 But sure is a waste of money.

Would have been better to get a regular M1A and cut the barrel and keep it Un-Res. then Add some Kewl magazine add-ons so you can post on youtube...

Why spend $2K on a res. Rifle??

I spent 2000 dollars on an HK Mark23, and im still happy to this day that i did.

I dont really think rifles are too much different than handguns ( for fun with shooting) so if i wanted a SOCOM II or 16, or an AR15 i wouldn't mind it being restricted, but then again its just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt :)

ETA

Of course it would be a LOT cooler if they could be unrestricted also ;)

restricted means little to me, i do not hunt. since i will only be shooting at a range the res or non res means nothing. most ar styles are restricted anyways so i don't see the point of bringing the classification into the discussion.
lots of talk from norinco fans for some reason, maybe they are jealous lol.

assyrian and jdman thanks for the insult.

do you actually own guns?

socom II's are close to 3000.00 and if you think you can do better with a saw and add on's you know next to nothing about the subject.

enjoy your time on youtube children.

Spend some time on CGN and you will see that I can do better with a saw and a few add-ons

Please refer to the Main Battle Rifle Forum for all your answers.
Lots of stickies regarding the M14.
I have attended a M14 clinic and am bound by 'The Code' to pass on as much knowledge as I can and help those 'New' to the M14.

It is Semi Auto but quite accurate, out at Genesee, I am able to hit the 6" gong consistency at 500meter. it very accurate, but restricted...

this thread should be closed. thanks for the help and those are some seriously sweet looking panthers. dpms will be my next .308 and i will ring it out for sure. i am waiting for my sa socomII with full cluster, hopefully another 6-8 weeks. i want the socomII for my cqb rifle and the panther for stretching the limits.

a side note.

i have no problem with suggestions that are logical. to me buying a norinco and hogging this and that to get the same (LOOK) as a socomII doesn't make it shoot like a socomII. only someone who has fired a socomII can appreciate what i am saying. as the tuna commercial says "nice try charlie".

not to mention the fact that close to 70% on this site oppose the chinese occupation of tibet and suggest going as far as boycotting the olympics. with this in mind i think that anyone who praises the norinco is speaking through the side of their neck. i will support my american friends first.
