Went to the range today to try out the AR500 8" round steel target I bought from Hoplite Tactical Supplies. Target was hung on metal frame with S hooks and gave a good downward angle at 100m from the firing line.
I was very happy with how it handled .556 Winchester 55 gr at 100m, so we turned it up a few notches, and hit it with three rounds of .270 WSM Barnes 130 gr TSX, and the last shot was a 7mm Rem Mag Barnes 140 gr TSX.
The following pics show the aftermath. The .270 WSM copper bullets (orange circles) left some copper on the target that came off with the fingernail and made no more mark than .556, the 7mm Rem Mag (white circle) left an indentation on the face and a slight bulge at the back.
So, there you have it, it's a great deal, and will handle .556 at 100m with ease, I don't think it will see any more magnum rounds unless it is at longer ranges.
