Ar 7

I have the Henry version of the rifle and it is decent for what it is intended to do. Some have reported serious jamming issues with the rifle due to the manner in which the rounds feed from the magazine, although I believe some people have posted fixes for it on the internet.

I have the Armalite version, and it was my favourite plinking gun when I was a kid. It was a great shooter, and I don't ever remember it jamming. I haven't shot it in years...but I'll never sell it.

I had the Charters Arms one and couldn't hit my foot if I dropped it. Cut my thumb loading it every other time I went out. It was a neat toy till I got into handguns.

Great pack/takedown gun.
Make yourself a new stock to get rid of that bulky plastic one. Not only is the feel of the rifle so much nicer now, it doesn't have that hollow plastic sound when shooting.
10rnd .22 @ approx 2lbs.
Chamfer the barrel slightly and use a quality high velocity round.

Buy a new henry they fixed allot of the problems.

If you read about how this and that is bad it's been fixed already. The only flaw you tend to find in the barrel is abit rough on the chamber a little sandpaper or a sharp knife to take the bur off and your good to go.

I had one then sold it I didn't like the peep sights on it to small for my eyes and I didn't like the feel of the stock because it's far over to the right. I ended up with a Norinco JW20 (browning clone) for 200 bucks instead cheaper but a nicer firearm. sure is picky on ammo though.

If you want a simple pack 22 lr go for it nothing is more compact or lighter for the price not even close. Accuracy was very good out of it for me 50 yards .5 inch groups off hand

Sure would like to see you shoot, a man that shoots .5inch at 50 offhand should be able to do 1inch at 100 with a capable rifle.
