Ar barrel nut torck

Just put my new battle on my upper an I know everyone says to torck it to 35 foot pounds

One thing I have never had a gas tube port on the upper an the nut to line up at that poundage.

My question is do you go tighter or looser to line them up

I did decide to go tighter an it took about 55 foot pounds to line up the nut and upper for the gas tube to pass

Any help from the build gooroos would be great

Anyways, if I remember correctly they say start at 35, then go up to 40 to line it up. Check put the Brownell's instructional videos.

Torque.

Pull it up and back off at least three times to set the threads when you are torquing the barrel nut.
