AR Bayonet Lugs

So, I've got an AR ordered (KAC SR-15 to be specific), and from their site, it appears it doesn't come with a bayonet lug.

Due to the sometimes aggressive nature of paper, or more specifically, the fact that I have a very nice bayonet, and I'd just like somewhere to put it, what's the deal with adding a bayonet? Is this usually an integral part of the gas block, or can you just screw on a band with a lug and be good to go?

I believe Brownells has front sight assemblies with the lug on for people to retrofit their AR's.

I picked up a bayo lug that clamps onto the barrel of my H BAR with allen screws (also from Brownell's). Looks like crap but does the job. For this reason I might sell it.

SR-15 barrels do not have enought barrel past the free float rail to use a bayonet lug.
