All comes down to what you want it for. Tacticool = short barrels, competition generally = longer ones.

There's a reason why the big guys shoot at least and 18 and the majority 20" barrels. Check it out on brianenos.com - 3 gun.

Everyone has said it already, you won't notice a thing.

Technically a shorter barrel is a stiffer barrel which equates to less barrel whip and actually increases accuracy. The trade off is a loss of velocity which won't matter to you at 100m. So in your case the shorter barrel will be a more accurate barrel, you still won't notice the difference though.
