I am not an AR guy, this is a "noob" question. I was shooting my Sig 516 at the Calgary Shooting Centre (awesome range BTW), and brass was bouncing off the inside of the shooting box back towards me. I am not squeamish, but got one hot piece of brass down my neck, and got a small but bad burn. Put the gun away after that and stuck with the Swiss Arms guns, which eject forward, more than to the side.

Question, is there a high quality AR-15 brass catcher on the market?

If you have one with a carry handle, Brownells carries one (stock# 084-000-262).

Found this googling brass catchers:

I just searched "brass catcher" on ebay and bought a $13 one. Works great.

Chap at our range runs one of these on his AR. Works pretty darn good.

I have a Caldwell and a 3bucc. The Caldwell is a lot easier to mount since it's just velcro, but it occasionally causes jams. I have yet to get a jam with the 3bucc.

I have a couple. You want the one that goe around the front chamber area, rigid box, single velcro mount. The other ones are old fashioned and wont clear rails or be used with mounts and optics.

The only one worth having is the 3Bucc. The rest are crap.

X2, Outstanding.

They use a very small mount for your flat top and the bag can attach/detach with a pull, yet wont fall out even if full.

I've used a bunch of other designs, this is the only one worth keeping IMO.
