Hi guys,

My Bushmaster has been running flawlessly for several years with thousands of rounds through the pipe. The extractor broke off during a match this summer and I didn't realized what was happening until I pulled the BCG out and saw the sheared extractor.

As I never shopped for an extractor before, are there any quality levels or are they the same? any suggestions on brands to avoid or to get? Any hint on where to get it? My AR has a 14.5" HBAR and I only shoot commercial/surplus ammo.

Thank you.

Brownells would be my default source, but there are probably CGN dealers handling them too.

I like to run the supplemental extractor donut buffer too. These are especially useful for shorter barrel AR15 pattern rifles.

Loose parts for AR15 pattern rifles are still a bit scarce, so you may to be less choosey :-(

I like to have spares for my more serious usage firearms, so you may want to pick up a spare and/or a spare parts kit at the same time.

Buy two of them with and two new extractor springs, firing pins, sets of gas rings, etc. Some places sell a field repair kit complete with everything you need. shop around our site sponsors.
Wolverine
Tier One Armoury
One Shot Tactical
Questar

Just to name a few.

Ellwood Epps has lots of extractors, springs, firing pins, etc. in stock. Listed under "Firearms Parts". Always good to have spares.
Will mail them to you via Canada Post.....
